One more year, we have celebrated our “Los + Ecoístas” awards, now in their fourth edition in Spain, to recognize all the key players in the sector who, like us, share a genuine commitment to preserving the environment for future generations.

I would like to congratulate all this year’s award winners: Tarannà Viajes con Sentido, Instituto de Turismo Responsable, Amadeus, Grupo Fedola, Grupo Respiralia, and OHLAB, as well as three communicators: Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente, Spanish biologist, author, and science communicator; Irene Baños, environmental scientist and specialized journalist; and Enrique Alex, +Ecoísta content creator.

 

Today we are proud to celebrate that Paseo Mallorca 15 has been awarded the Big SEE Architecture Award 2025. A standout project by OHLAB that reflects Mediterranean sensibility, meticulous attention to detail, and the use of high-quality local materials and elements. We were fortunate to be part of this carefully crafted design with our 5.1 collection in soft polished brass, which integrates seamlessly into an interior defined by warmth, character, and artisanal sophistication. We are pleased to announce that our project “Paseo Mallorca 15” was honored with the prestigious Ciutat de Palma “Guillem Sagrera” Architecture Award 2023, presented by the City Council of Palma. This recognition highlights the project as the best work completed in Palma over the past two years, emphasizing excellence in design, sustainability, and contribution to the urban environment. The award was presented by the mayor during the recent Premis Ciutat de Palma gala, held last Saturday, January 20, at the Teatre Principal de Palma. We are thrilled with this recognition, which was received by Paloma Hernaiz and Jaime Oliver, the directors of OHLAB, in honor of their vision and leadership on the project. “Paseo Mallorca 15”, strategically located on Paseo Mallorca, reflects our commitment to contextual and sustainable architecture. The fragmented design responds respectfully to its surroundings, featuring a wooden louvered façade that acts as a dynamic sun filter, optimizing energy efficiency. Following Passivhaus standards, the project sets a new benchmark for near-zero energy buildings. This project is distinguished by its integration of natural elements, such as a green wall of native reeds that pays tribute to the Riera del Paseo Mallorca. An interior courtyard with vegetation and varied levels creates a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. In the interior design of Paseo Mallorca 15, we carefully selected natural and local materials that highlight the Mediterranean essence. The palette of noble materials, including French walnut, cedar, oak, lime, and local stones, creates a unique experience for the residents. More information about the project can be found here. We are thrilled to announce that our project Paseo Mallorca 15 has won the AMAD Award (Architecture in Wood). The AMAD Awards aim to recognize architectural projects—whether new builds, renovations, or interior design—that feature outstanding use of wood.

The innovation and sustainability of Paseo Mallorca 15 make OHLAB a winner of the FRAME Awards 2023 for the second consecutive time, following last month’s selection of Can Santacilia.

The jury of the CSCAE Awards 2023 selected Paseo Mallorca 15 as one of the 177 works chosen from 429 submissions.

The project Paseo Mallorca 15 was selected in the XVI BEAU Awards, among more than 500 projects submitted. Under the title Me—dio Pla—zo, the XVI Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BEAU) reflects on how our future habitat begins to take shape through present actions, allowing us to anticipate what our near future might be based on the most outstanding recent Spanish architecture. The 50 finalists and 126 selected projects were announced after the deliberation sessions held last May at the renovated Sala La Arquería. A jury of experts, chaired by Iñaqui Carnicero, Secretary General of Urban Agenda and Housing at the Ministry of Transport, Mobility, and Urban Agenda (Mitma), was responsible for selecting from more than 500 submitted projects.

The jury of the IX Enor Architecture Awards, composed of Anatxu Zabalbeascoa, Inés Lobo, Carlos Pita, and Francisco Vieira, selected Paseo Mallorca 15 as one of the 68 finalist projects from more than 300 submissions.

We are very excited that the jury has selected our project Can Santacilia as a finalist in the FAD Awards. “The project is recognized for the integration of a new domestic program into two palaces in the historic center. A transformation justified by social changes and contemporary housing needs, which, despite spatial challenges, coherently resolves the interiors of the homes and the communal spaces. The project highlights the ability to successfully manage a complex proposal, balancing the planned program, living diagnosis, and respect for historical memory.”

We are very happy that Paseo Mallorca 15 has advanced to the next phase of the MAPEI Sustainable Architecture Awards. This award aims to recognize professionals who drive sustainable projects, placing special emphasis on best practices that advance the sector in this regard. Its goal is to promote the realization of sustainable architecture projects that combine factors such as quality, innovation, and respect for the environment and surroundings from start to finish.

Can Bordoy was selected as the Best Hotel Project at the BUILD Architecture Awards 2019.

We are very proud that Can Bordoy has won in three categories at the Hospitality Design Awards! The categories are as follows:

In addition to winning in three categories at the Hospitality Design Awards, Can Bordoy was a finalist in a fourth category: Luxury Hotel. We are very excited!

Can Bordoy has been awarded at the annual Travel Top 50 Awards!

Can Bordoy was one of the five finalists in the Food & Beverage category, narrowly missing out on winning the Architizer A+ Awards 2019.

At the Arquitectura Plus Awards 2019, organized by Grupo Vía, Can Bordoy was a finalist for the Best Hotel and Restaurant Architecture Project. A total of 131 projects from 87 Spanish firms participated in the fifth edition of these awards.

Can Bordoy was selected among the Top Trend-Setting Projects by the The Big Sleep Awards 2019 (by National Geographic).

Can Bordoy was a finalist in the annual Surface Travel Awards, organized by Surface Magazine, in the Small Hotel category.

We came very close to winning with Casa Xaloc in the Future Projects: Houses category at the World Architecture Festival held in Amsterdam. We’ll try again once it’s built!

Casa MM is the winner of the Best Eco-Design Project at the IEDesign Awards 2017 from IED Madrid.

We were finalists at the World Architecture Festival 2017 with the In-Sight Concept Store in Miami.

We were finalists in the Interior Design Awards of the COAIB with the Emardental Clinic.

OHLAB was nominated in the WIN Awards 2017 in the Retail Interiors category for the In-Sight Concept Store in Miami and in the Furniture category for the Puro Carts.

The In-Sight Concept Store in Miami received an Honorable Mention at the American Architecture Prize (AAP) in the Interior Design / Retail category.

The In-Sight Concept Store in Miami is a finalist in the Best of Year 2017 Awards in the Small Retail category.

We have been finalists in the WAN Awards in the House of the Year category with MM House. We are pleased to have been among the seven finalists.

Yesterday, OHLAB won the award for Best Energy Efficiency Project with Casa MM at the 10th NAN Architecture and Construction Awards 2016. It was a very enjoyable dinner and gala evening.
